At Kairos Cafe, we bring people together over great coffee and fresh food. Stop in for breakfast, meet a friend for lunch, or settle in with your favorite drink. Inspired by Kairos—the right moment—we invite you to slow down and enjoy yours.
An Ancient Greek word meaning “the right moment”, a good and proper time for an action.
In Orthodox Christian Theology, this is the appointed time in God’s purpose—the moment, the harvest time—as opposed to Chronos (Χρόνος) — ordinary, chronological time: minutes, hours, days.
While the Earth keeps spinning and our busy lives keep rolling by, we invite you to take a moment for the things that make life extraordinary: authentic connections with our neighbors, growth in timeless wisdom, and a few well-earned comforts (especially coffee and pastries).
Kairos Cafe is envisioned as a place to enjoy, a place of refuge, and a place we’ve always wanted in our hometown. Come and sample the beverages and foods that have been passed down from our diverse backgrounds and experiences, take a moment to browse our selection of books (coming both from Orthodox authors and others we’ve enjoyed), and insert some prayer into your day by visiting our upstairs chapel.
